2nd July
Queen Margaret went to Seattle and met two Queens there – Queen Kathy and Queen Gretchen. They made her extremely welcome and made some wonderful memories.
2nd August
First meeting of The Wacky Women of Wisbech took place at the Fenland Restaurant with the founders Queen Margaret and Lady Laugh a Lot. It was brilliant!
6th September
Meeting started with having our feet nibbled at the place in the High Street followed by a meal at the Blacksmiths
Arms.
15th September
Queen Margaret and Kountess Knit ‘n’ Knatter joined the Fen Fatales at Baytree Nursery for a fashion show in aid of MacMillan.
26th September
Queen Margaret and Lady Laugh a Lot enjoyed a champagne afternoon tea at the Bull Hotel in Peterborough. It was scrummy!!
3rd October
We have by now welcomed Lady Sew and So to the chapter so the four of us went to a Purple Sale held at the home of a Fen Fatale member. We bought, we ate and we made some lovely friends and Cancer Research was richer by hundreds of pounds.
7th – 9th October
Queen Margaret and Lady Laugh a Lot were lucky enough to be able to go to the Red Hat Convention in Brighton. We had an absolutely fantastic time and made many new friends. We came home buzzing after the weekend and our suitcases came home bulging with the extra red hat goodies we’d bought!
12th October
Four of us including new member Princess Patterpaws came last in the quiz but had a really fun evening anyway, and cleaned up in the raffle!
25th November – Sandringham Craft Fair
Four of us had a wonderful time at Sandringham including meeting up with the Fen Fatales and a potential member aswell.
6th December – Christmas meal
The soon to be Lady Jane Grey joined us for our Christmas meal even though she was two weeks short of being an official Red Hat, but we forgave her for being so young!!
16th December – Meal at Clarkes inPeterborough
Three of us had a fantastic meal which was rounded off nicely with lots of shopping. As we went on the bus we could also enjoy the wine with the meal.
19th December – Wisbech Christmas market
Wow, what a day. It was bitterly cold but we managed to bear it with hot chocolate with baileys inside us! Six Fen Fatales and two Sluice Women met up with us for a terrific meal at the Britannia Café. It was a brilliant day and
made all the more so because others chapters joined with us. Thank you Pat, Ros and your wonderful ladies for making the day for us!
