2015
A quiet start to the year but we had an excellent meal as usual at The Sportsman, Elm.
12th February - Fascinating Aida
We joined the Fen Fatales at the Corn Exchange, King's Lynn to see 'Fascinating Aida'. It was absolutely hilarious and a brilliant evening.
17th February - 50 Shades of Grey
We went to The Luxe in Wisbech to see '50 Shades of Grey'. Not deemed a 'good' film but thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless. An evening to remember.
20th March - 60's Night
A few of us went to the Wisbech Institute for a 60's evening. Disappointingly we were the only ones there. However that didn't stop us enjoying ourselves and we all bopped and strutted through the evening interspersed with a super buffet provided by Lady Laugh a Lot.
2nd April - Pyjama Party
We were joined by our lovely Princess Blingy Balls who had just turned '50' so came straight in as a Red Hatter. Instead of our usual regalia, almost everyone remembered to don their pj's (in red and purple of course) and didn't we look good, even down to the scarlet headwear. Walking through the Sportsman and being checked out by the clientele was a hoot. It was a brilliant evening and fabulous fun. I sent up a copy of the photo to Hatquarters and we were in the Friday Broadcast although they did print that we watched movies and had a sleep-over which wasn't what happened but heyho!!
4th June - Bournemouth Red Hat Weekend
Queen Margaret and Lady Laugh a Lot went to Bournemouth by train and met Baroness Biggles down there. We had intended to go on the 5th but the rail strike loomed so we thought we'd get there in good time. The meeting on the 4th was ably taken by Countess Cabernet. Bournemouth was the usual mix of entertainment and meeting up with old friends. The hotel was excellent and the weather perfect.
10th September - Quiz at Mendi's
Some of us went to Mendi's for their brilliant quiz evening. It was really good fun and WE WON!!. Excellent result for a super evening.
15th September- The Luxe
Some of us joined the Fen Fatales to see 'The Legend of Barney Thompson' at The Luxe. It was great to be with friends and we got a lot of attention in our red and purple.
14th October - Dreamboats & Miniskirts
Baroness Biggles and Queen Margaret joined the Fen Fatales at the Corn Exchange in King's Lynn to see Dreamboats & Miniskirts. It was a brilliant afternoon and we had a good old sing along. We knew all the words so joined in when we could.
30th October - 1st November - Convention
Lady Laugh a Lot, Lady Corrie and Queen Margaret went to St Albans for this year's Convention where we met up with our lovely friend Sallyann from the Scarlet Fedoras. The Friday night was bling night so we all dressed up to the nines, and went to Hatfield House where we had dinner in the Banqueting Hall. We were served by girls in costume and entertained by minstrels, all in appropriate dress. The King welcomed each Queen and representatives of Chapters where the Queen wasn't present.Everyone was given a gift of bling and it was a truly memorable evening. On the Saturday we marched through the town and in the evening as it was Halloween, we were all in suitable fancy dress. After a pyjama breakfast, which Lady Laugh a Lot won, on the Sunday we all went home looking forward to the next time. All in all a brilliant weekend.
4th November - Greyhound racing
Seven of us enjoyed a night at the dogs at Peterborough Greyhound Stadium organised by Baroness Bolinger. We had a meal and had great fun. Some won, some lost but it was great evening.
5th November - Fireworks night
It was our usual meeting night and we had a fireworks party at the home of Princess Bling Balls. Her husband was in charge of the fireworks and it was brilliant. We each took some food and had a great time. We also celebrated our fifth birthday as we had to cancel our planned party in October. A really smashing evening.
3rd December - Christmas
Our usual Christmas meal at the Sportsman and the evening was great as Mother Christmas made a surprise appearance as her husband was busy that night getting ready for the children. Pressies were handed out and it was a good start to the festive season. Thanks M C aka Lady Cheeky Choccy.
10th December - Panto time
Four of us went to see Robin Hood at the Corn Exchange in King's Lynn. It was absolutely fantastic and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. A super way to round of the year!
